Developing an investigative interview for the fair and effective justice in partnership with the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights - Just Group

Changing to become stronger.

New approaches that change the justice system from inside, focused on changing the mindset of those who conduct investigations, is yet another important focus of our organization.

Investigative interview is one of such approaches. Our team together with the practitioners from the Just community has been working on it for a long time.

And now we are happy to announce a new stage of development – a partnership with the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights. Practitioners from various institutions will soon have access to better expertise on investigative interview techniques.

Investigators, detectives and prosecutors have already had their first online session of the Investigative Interview for Fair and Effective Justice training programme, when they discussed the strategic use of evidence with Dr. Asbjørn Rachlew and considered the witness interview Triangle model with Benjamin Lucas, an investigative specialist.

Strengthening the capacity of criminal justice practitioners is one of the cross-cutting meanings of JustGroup. For this, we develop partnerships, attract high-quality expertise (both national and international), and rethink existing experience. We thank colleagues from the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights and the community of practitioners open to change and development for the new shared space.

A lot of work is ahead to develop the investigative interview in Ukraine and improve approaches for a more effective investigation.

Meaning unites!
